State should take responsibility of social security of citizens: YEC

Young Entrepreneur’s Council (YEC), a forum of entrepreneurs has asked the Interim Constitution Drafting Committee to make the provision that the government should take the responsibility of social security of the citizens.

A memorandum submitted by the Council to the Interim Constitution Drafting Committee on Monday said that there should be the provision to guarantee that there will be no discrimination on the basis of caste, sex, language, religion or profession in the interim constitution.

The memorandum further said that there should be conducive environment to run business freely and work freely and should restrict the provision of depriving people from work and to run their business due to political revenge.

The recommendation also included to resolve the issue of citizenship before the election of the constituent assembly and protection of the personal and public properties, among others.

A 14-member committee led by former Justice of the Supreme Court and one of the framers of the 1990 constitution is preparing the interim constitution to replace the 1990 constitution to include Maoists in an interim government and to go for the elections of the constituent assembly.
