Spot of kidnapping inspected

Kathmandu, July 12: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has stated that NHRC commissioners Kapil Shrestha and Sushil Pyakurel have conducted an on the spot investigation of the kidnapping of Tara Prasad Bhusal, who was ordered to be released by court in a habeas corpus case, by police personnel in plain clothes from the office from of the Appellate Court, Butwal.

Necessary action in this regard is being taken, it is learnt from NHRC.

A programme to hold consultations with the high ranking officials of HMG was presided over by NHRC chairman Nayan Bahadur khatri.

Participants at the programme from 23 different organisations expressed their commitment to extend cooperation to NHRC and provided useful suggestions on the policy and programmes to be pursued by it in the future.
