The central security management sub-committee met Sunday to make security more effective and reliable hours after the murder of IGP of the Armed Police Krishna Mohan Shrestha, the Defence Ministry said.
The meeting was chaired by the Chief of the Army Staff Gen. Pyar Jung Thapa. The meeting condemned the “cowardly and terrorist act of the terrorists,” the Defence Ministry said.
“The terrorist nature of the Maoists have been exposed at home and abroad by the incident even as they call for a peaceful resolution of the crisis through dialogue. Such murders are inhuman,” the statement said.
“Security forces are committed to restore peace and order while eliminating terrorism,” the statement said. The statement confirmed the murdered happened at 7.35 AM.
