Citing lack of adequate legislations to control growing crime against children, campaigners have submitted 400,000 signatures to the Speaker of the interim parliament Subas Nemwang on Thursday urging him to take necessary steps.

The Bibek Luitel Memorial Academy had gathered those signatures from the public from different parts of the capital valley.

Speaker Nemwang, talking with the campaigners said he would take the initiative to formulate necessary laws.

The academy was formed in memory of Bibek Luitel. The 8-year-old kid was found murdered by kidnappers in October last year. He was kidnapped from his residence in Koteshwore.
