Speaker of the House of Representatives Taranath Ranabhatt Wednesday issued a ruling asking the concerned minister to report to parliament within seven days on the abuse of several hundred women by men at a village in Mohottari district Tuesday accusing them of witchcraft.

The Speaker’s strong ruling came as members of treasury and opposition benches demanded stern action against the women abusers. More than six persons were injured in clashes between opposing groups  at Simardhai village when one group called a sorcerer to identify witches in the village after the death of a man.
