Police Tuesday apprehended at least six student activists amid continuing anti-King protests in Kathmandu, witnesses and reports said.

They were arrested during the protests of five agitating parties and their student organisations from different parts of the capital. The protesters continued to chant aggressive slogans.

The rallies passed through Bag Bazaar, Putali Sadak, Shahid Gate, Indra Chowk, Bhotahiti and reversed back the same route. The previous rallies had concluded at Ratnapark area.

Addressing the corner meeting of the rally, student and party leaders cautioned the King to fulfill their demand. Otherwise, they said, would go for a republican state.

Meanwhile, reports from Pokhara said protesting students blocked road traffic in Hemja VDC of Pokhara-Baglung Highway for a few hours. nepalnews.com mr Jan 13
