Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula has urged police force to work with more dedication and responsibility, and provide support to the government in its campaign to make ‘New Nepal.’

Speaking at the Convocation of Post-Graduate Diploma in Police Science and the passing out of 143rd batch of Police Inspectors’ Basic Training at the National Police Training Academy Friday, the Home Minister said that people from every walk of life should bear responsibility to face the challenges and difficulties in the present context.

Minister Sitaula said that the major challenge was peace and security and suggested Nepal police that they should go forward by correcting their weaknesses. He said that the government was ready to conduct constituent assembly elections within mid-June this year.

Minister Sitaula also presented awards and trophies to the winners in different categories. He also observed the passing out parade.

Out of 47 trainees, Kabit Katuwal topped the batch. Rugam Bahadur Kuwar came first in parade, Rabindra Nath Poudel on academic side and, Pradeep Kumar Singh in target shooting and Prem Sagar KC in physical fitness.

Inspector General of Police Om Bikram Rana said that the duty of police was to provide security to the people. He suggested the trainees to respect the rights of all people.

The Post-Graduate Diploma in Police Science, conducted in affiliation with Tribhuvan University, was run for the first time in Nepal.
