Speaking at the inaugural session of the mid-western regional security meet in Nepalgunj on Wednesday, home minister Sitaula said the process for election of constituent assembly would begin from January 15, by which all the displaced police posts will be re-established and VDC secretaries will reach workstations.
He directed the regional security chiefs, district and regional administrators to make necessary preparations for the constituent assembly polls. He said unless police posts are re-established and VDC secretaries are allowed to go back to collect the voters’ name list and distribute citizenship, CA polls are unlikely by mid June.
Sitaula said government is committed to reinstate the police posts at any cost because it was necessary to meet the goal of government to hold the CA polls on stipulated time.
