Home Minister and chief government negotiator Krishna Prasad Sitaula Friday said the Maoists would not be inducted into the government before the management of arms.
Addressing a meeting of party cadres in eastern town of Inaruwa, Sunsari, on Friday, Sitaula said the formation of interim government would be delayed if the Maoists did not accept the proposal of arms management.
He, however, said the summit talks likely to be held next week would finalize the issue of arms management and draft of the interim constitution.
“Peace can not prevail and people will not be able to cast their vote in a fearless atmosphere in the constituent assembly elections if arms are not managed,” reports quoted Sitaula as saying. He added that the government at present had been concentrating on how Maoist arms could be managed.
Earlier at a programme, the Sitaula alleged the Maoists of not being sincere towards implementing the code of conduct and other agreements reached between the government, seven parties and the government.
