Sindhuli Road Section II Inaugurated

Minister of Physical Planning and Works Gopal Man Shrestha and Japanese Ambassador to Nepal jointly inaugurated, the 13.5km long segment of Phase II of the Sindhuli Road Section II (Sindhuli Bazar – Khurkot section) connecting Pipal Bhanjyang to Khaniya Khark of Sindhuli District.

A press statement issued by the Japanese Embassy in Kathmandu said, the Road Section II has been implemented under the grant assistance of the Government of Japan since Japan’s Fiscal Year (JFY) 2001.

Speaking on the occasion, Japanese Ambassador Hiraoka expressed pleasure to note that the Government of Japan has been close development partner of Nepal, extending its Official Development Assistance (ODA) to Nepal for her development endeavor since 1969.

“In this line, the Government of Japan has been extending grant assistance to Nepal for the construction of the 158km long Sindhuli Road since 1996,” the statement quoted Hiraoka as saying.

Hiraoka further noted the people residing in the areas nearby the road, which is approximately 100,000 people, will have a better access to Sindhuli Bazar as well as the rest of the country.
