The Shree Panchami festival is being celebrated Thursday by worshipping goddess Sarswoti, the deity of knowledge and education.

The day is also regarded as an auspicious occasion to initiate toddlers into learning the alphabets. Students from all walks of life thronged the temples of goddess Swarswoti early Thursday morning to pay homage and pray for a bright academic career.
