Seven people of two families were buried alive in their sleep and one was injured by landslides triggered by heavy monsoon downpours Monday at two villages bordering Tibet in Sindhupalchok district, police said.

Two houses in Gati and Ghumthang villages were buried by the mudslide.

Eighty families have been affected by landslides and floods in the district as the monsoon season nears its end this year, police said.
