At least seven children have died of diarrhea in Mangri VDC in remote mid-western district of Mugu in the past seven days.

Diarrhea outbreak is seen in Mangri since last week while the local health centers have run out of medicines, according to reports.

Three of the seven children who have died of diarrhea have been identified as Futik Lama, Jiba Lama and Sonam Kami.

Mangri is a day’s walk from the district headquarters Gamgadhi where 60-70 patients of diarrhea come for treatment at the district hospital every day but no treatment is being provided from there due to lack of medicines, reports added.
