With the dispute between the ruling seven party alliance and the Maoists on the issue of settling political issues and Maoist arms management, President of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Pashupati Shumshere JB Rana has suggested the government and the Maoists to push forward the issue of arms management and political settlement simultaneously.

He claimed the instance of Maoist rebels hitting the streets with their demands could prove to be a dangerous step. He also expressed concern over the instance of rebels wielding arms.
“There is pressure from the government and the rebel side to push the peace process ahead. While the government is putting pressure in its own way, the tactics on the streets could prove dangerous,” Rana told journalists at his residence on Saturday.
He also claimed that while the media has been presenting the rebel point of view to the maximum, the government point of view is not being reported.
He also urged both the sides to promulgate the interim constitution immediately to open the way for the elections of the constituent assembly.
“It would be better to let the people decide the nagging issues, which are delaying the interim constitution from taking shape,” Rana said, adding that the House of Representatives was the legitimate body now.
Rana also said it would be wrong to have both referendum on monarchy and election to constituent assembly simultaneously, adding it will make the people confused about the issue to be decided.
