Kathmandu, June 3: Deputy Speaker of the House Of Representative Chitralekha Yadav, addressing the 7th annual meeting of the society for dermatology, veneral disease and leprosy yesterday, said that medical personnel have to work with a service motive.
She called on the medical profession to reach out to the rural areas and serve the poor who have not been able to afford treatment for dangerous ailments due to financial difficulties.
She also felicitated Dr. Rambhadra Adiga for his valuable contribution to dermatology and leprosy treatment.
Dr. Adiga, speaking on the occasion, noted that medical personnel used to be hesitant to touch leprosy patients and others suffering from skin diseases, but this situation has now changed.
Chairman of the society Dr. Bimla Ojha presided over the meeting.
