Maoist Chairman Prachanda and second in command Dr Baburam Bhattarai have left for Siliguri, India, on Friday for a meeting with Indian communist leaders.

The leaders duo landed at Bhadrapur Airport by a Buddha Air flight at 1 p.m. and went into a meeting with local Maoist cadres for about two hours before leaving for the north-east Indian town, according to newspaper reports.
Answering the queries of the journalists, the Maoist supremo said that their visit was political and that he would talk to journalists in a day or two.
“Let’s not start questions and answers as it takes time to discuss the country’s situation,” Prachanda told to journalists, who were there to ask the rebels’ leader about the current political situation of the country.
The leaders duo was accompanied by Prachanda’s wife Sita and a Maoist cadre when they drove to Kakarbhitta in a car belong into Rajendra Thapa, a Birtamod local, reports said.
According to a local Maoist source, senior communist leaders from India including Sitaram Yechuri are converging in Siliguri.
Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and Maoist chairman Prachanda signed a letter seeking the United Nations (UN) help in management of arms and Nepal peace process.
