Security reinforcement in Birgunj

Amid growing protests by the business community at the lack of law and order in this border town and commercial hub of Birgunj, the government has decided to reinforce the security system there.

The Central Regional Police Office of Hetauda has dispatched additional manpower and weapons to the police in Parsa district.

As per the Parsa District Police Office, they have received 50 additional policemen and 15 more pistols.

The district police office had been complaining at the lack of manpower in the backdrop of increasing incidents of attacks, abductions and killing of businessmen in and around Birgunj.

Business community had been organising various agitations to protest the poor security situation in the town.
