Pakistan will host the ninth South Asian Federation Games next year at Islamabad, representatives of the participating countries said Thursday, AFP reported from Islamabad.

The Games are scheduled to take place from March 29 to April 7. The last three annual Games have been cancelled due to regional political instability including the Sept. 11 terror attacks in 2001, the India-Pakistan tension in 2002, and this year’s Iraq war.

The SAF Games is a meeting of athletes from Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. nepalnews.com br Sept.19.
