Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN), a non-governmental organization provided relief assistance to a total of 1,129 flood and landslide affected families of Achham, Bardiya and Banke districts.
A press statement issued by the RRN said, “RRN has been mobilizing several volunteers and sizeable amount of resources to help the victims of devastating floods and landslides in mid western districts of Nepal.”
The statement further said RRN also distributed assistance worth NRs. 250,000 to the Kabilas village development committee (VDC), Chitawan where houses of 55 families were completely swept away by huge landslides, forcing the poor families to be displaced.
Stating that there is a great need of urgent response to meet the emergency needs of increasing numbers of victims in the region, the RRN said, “RRN appeals for all well-wishers, funding partners, volunteer organizations, I/NGOs and benevolent individuals to extend their cooperation to assist for the livelihood of the victims of this disaster.”
RRN also requested all interested parties to deposit their contribution in account number 18-120669-10 of Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN) at Standard Chartered Bank, Lazimpat, Kathmandu.
