Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) president Pashupati Shumshere Rana on Wednesday said his party will take final decision on monarchy and other key political agendas before the constituent assembly elections.

In a press conference held in the industrial town of Birgunj, Rana said the party’s general convention would be held in October this year where it would finalise the agendas for constituent assembly election.

Rana statement came the same day UNMIN chief Ian Martin said mid-November was a realistic time for the constituent assembly polls.

Earlier on Tuesday, RPP had taken out a rally demanding that the government address the legitimate demands of Madhesh.

It may be recalled here that RPP has already deleted ‘constitutional monarchy’ from the party statute, a move many political observers say is a major ideological departure of the pro-monarchy party.
