The Rastriya Prajatantra Party led by Kamal Thapa has asked to include the provision of constitutional monarchy in the interim constitution.
In its 11-point suggestion submitted to the Interim Constitution Drafting Committee (ICDC), the party led by home Minister of the erstwhile royal government has suggested to include people’s sovereignty, multi-party competitive politics, constitutional monarchy and the principle of rule of law as base of the new constitution.
The party has also asked not to make any amendment in the existing system till the election of the constituent assembly.
The party has also demanded to include the provision of forming an interim government led by the existing or retired Justice of the Supreme Court, three months before the election of the constituent assembly to hold the election in a free and fair manner.
The party has also demanded that the interim constitution should make clear provisions about the election of the constituent assembly.
The party also demanded protection to the women, Janajatis, Dalits and Madhesi in the interim constitution.
The party has also demanded to make a constitutional basis to provide citizenship certificates to all Nepalis.
