The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) held the central working committee meeting under the Chairmanship of the party president, Pashupati Shumsher Rana at the party office on Monday.
The meeting formed a six member committee led by Deepak Bohara, to verify the authenticity of the signatures colleted by party leader Surya Bahadur Thapa’s fraction to call the central council assembly.
The committee includes Khem Raj Pandit, Prem Bahadur Bhandari, Giri Bahadur KC, Dilip Rai, and Pratap Ram Lohar.
The committee has been directed to present the proposal with suggestions in the next central working committee meeting to be held on January 29 to decide the date and venue for the central council assembly.
The press release issued after the meeting said the party feels that central council meeting is needed to be held as soon as possible under the party act 39 considering the request of some members of the council.
In the meeting, the government was leveled with the charge of acting against the norms of the constitution by widening the gap between the various constitutional forces.
The participants also said the party’s decision to ask for the resignation of the Prime Minister has been supported by the government’s recent activities.
The meeting also discussed the ongoing regression. The release also stated that the party has taken the assassination of Gopal Giri, Mayor of Birgunj sub-metropolitan city seriously and expressed condolence to the family of departed soul.
Talking to the journalists, party leader Jogmehar Shrestha said, “Constitutional monarchy is the necessity of the country.” He further said that for the good of the nation, the Prime Minister should resign immediately.
