In a message to all the RNA personnel on the occasion of the RNA Day Tuesday, General Thapa said RNA had launched its operations awarding top priorities to values like ‘rule of law’ and protecting human rights. The sole aim of the RNA is to restore peace and security in the country, he said.
Without naming the Maoists, General Thapa said the RNA was carrying out successful operations against terrorism within the country and had excellent performances abroad in restoring peace at the international level, said Thapa.
“The terrorists were being isolated from the people and international community due to forceful operations being launched by security forces and the people’s resistance,” he added.
Saying that the country was at the most critical stage in its history now, General Thapa said the initiative taken by His Majesty King Gyanendra – in favour of the country and people– in order to strengthen multi-party democracy by restoring law and order has kindled the hope for peace among all the Nepaliis and encouraged them.
Attired in military uniform, King Gyanendra observed the special RNA Day celebrations at the RNA pavilion at Tundikehl in Kathmandu Tuesday.
