Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) Monday lifted restrictions on the sale and distribution of POL products slapped March 21 after an outbreak of war in Iraq, the Corporation said.

Widespread protests greeted the restrictions and hikes in prices of POL products. The Supreme Court earlier issued an interim order striking down an executive order restricting vehicular movement to alternate days to save fuel.

The NOC hiked prices of diesel, petrol and kerosene 39.96 percent, 7.69 percent and 64.7 percent respectively; aviation fuel and LPG prices went up 18.05 percent and 7.69 percent respectively. nepalnews.com br April 1
