Lamjung, July 12: Immediate relief assistance has been distributed to families in the five village development committees (VDCs) in constituency-4 of the district affected by floods and landslide on June 23, according to the District Administration Office.
The affected families have come to the district headquarters to receive additional relief, the District Administration Office stated.
Five persons died and 17 houses were completely ravaged while 59 other houses were partially damaged by flood and landslide in Jeeta, Ramgha, Taksar, Sami Bhanjyang and Suryapal VDCs of the area.
The massive flood also washed away 1,680 ropani arable land in the area.
An ex-gratia assistance of Rs 10,000 each per the death of a member was given to the affected families. Similarly, Rs 4000 was given to the families whose houses have been completely damaged while Rs 500-3000 was given to families whose houses were partially damaged, it is learnt from the District Administration Office.
A total of Rs 218,000 has been distributed as relief assistance to the 73 affected families in the area, according to chief district officer Govinda Khanal.
