Speaking to his party workers and general people at district headquarters Chautara, Rana said that the RPP is a fully democratic party and had struggled in the movement to establish democracy in the country.

Earlier, he was barred from visiting the district by Maoist activists. However, Rana had complained of this problem to Maoist chairman Prachanda during their meeting in Kathmandu last week.

Prachanda had assured Rana of cooperation in this regard, during the meeting.

Rana had also complained to the UN human rights office regarding incidents of Maoist barring him from visiting and making speech in the district. He said that in such a situation, free and fair elections cannot be imagined.

Rana has been representing the district as elected MP numerous times during Panchayat as well as post-1990 period.
