Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Pashupati Shumser Rana has urged the ruling seven party alliance and the Maoists to hold summit level talks to resolve their differences.
Inaugurating the central regional meeting of RPP cadres in the capital Friday, Rana said the country was moving towards uncertainty due to growing crisis of confidence between the seven party alliance and the Maoists.
“The schism between them (rebels and alliance) is widening now. It would be better if they can hold a summit to sort out the misunderstanding,” Rana added.
Stating that the seven party alliance and the Maoists should come to a consensus to hold constituent assembly elections, Rana said, “There should be conducive environment not only for the Maoists and the seven party alliance but for all the Nepali people to participate in the constituent assembly elections.”
There were two sofas in the room; the king was on one and Chand on the other. The king told Chand to come sit next to him. Sitting next to each other, the king and his prime minister talked about the demand of Nepali Congress. Finally, the king said, “If the leaders of Nepali Congress have clear ideas about political reform, you should start a dialogue with them.”

Rana also alleged that the seven party alliance and the rebels were becoming obstructive in the restoration of peace. He also blamed them for the failure in drafting the interim constitution.
Speaking at the programme, former Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand said that rebels should keep in mind that they cannot run the affairs of the state on the strength of the power alone.
