Students continue protests
Students in the Valley and the rest of the country Wednesday continued protests against this month’s price rise of POL products, student representatives said.
The protests are organized by seven student unions affiliated with different political parties including one affiliated with Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand’s Rashtriya Prajatantra Party. The students disrupted vehicular traffic for 30 minutes beginning 8 AM in front of campuses in the Valley.
Students at Amrit Science Campus damaged two motorcycles defying a ban on vehicular movement and police removed tires placed as roadblocks at Chabahil amid some tension in front of Pashupati Campus.
Students later in the afternoon picketed the office of the Nepal Oil Corporation demanding a 50 percent reduction in kerosene price.
