Queen leaves for London

Queen Komal left for London Thursday for a delayed medical check-up. King Gyanendra gave the Queen and his daughter, Princess Prearana, a warm sendoff at the airport. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and heads of constitutional bodies were also present on the occasion.

The Queen survived with  serious lung injuries in the  June 1 shoot-out at the Narayanhiti Royal Palace; King Birendra and Queen Aishwarya  were among 10 members of the royal family and relatives killed in the carnage.
