Tulsipur, May 8: Vice-chancellor of the Mahendra Sanskrit University (MSU) Madhav Raj Gautam inaugurated a day-long conference of teachers from university affiliated sanskrit colleges at the central office of the university in Beljhundi, Dang, on Sunday.
On the occasion, vice-chancellor Gautam said the university was making efforts to impart quality education to its students so that they would be able to establish themselves in the society.
He stressed the need for setting up a revolving fund for the economic sustenance of the university.
University Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Bhoj Raj Pant suggested the seminar participants hold extensive discussions on the timely amendments in the university curriculum, textbooks, and the financial regime such as the academic fees and the economic administration of the university and find out concrete ways for its improvement.
Rector Prof. (Dr.) Baburam Sharma Pokharel from the chair said the university has been conducting various research activities in the field of ancient knowledge system as well as in modern subjects.
Some 30 persons including teachers from 12 affiliated colleges, controllers of examination, executive directors and divisional and section chiefs of the central office attended the conference.
Meanwhile a religious symposium was organised here Sunday by the Srikrishna Pranami Tulsi Sewa Samity.
On the occasion various religious scholars and academics stressed cultivation of the innerself and universal compassion in order to rid the world of war and violence.
They concluded that the vices of greed and avarice and the lack of a sense of love, compassion and kindness in modern man were behind all the kind of chaos in the present day world.
A five-point programme of action was also drawn on the occasion to spread the message of love, peace, kindness and compassion throughout the country.
Central president of the Srikrishna Pranami Sewa Samity Krishna Prasad Khatiwada presided over the programme.
