His Majesty King Gyanendra has asked the zonal administrator, chairmen and vice-chairmen of District Development Committees (DDC) of the six districts of the Lumbini zone to deliver services keeping with the aspirations of the people.
“You should deliver services accepting the people’s aspirations as the key mantra. Service to the people is service to the nation,” said the King granting a joint audience to the officials at Butwal today.
Stating that Lumbini as the birth place of Lord Buddha had a great significance, the King directed the chairmen and vice-chairmen to work in the direction of making Lumbini the peace zone of the whole world.

The King further said that has accorded national priority to the development of Lumbini zone as per the master plan, reports said.
The people of Susta area, who are facing various problems from Indian security forces, submitted an application to the King asking security from the government, reports said.
Their Majesties the King and the Queen visited Butwal, the zonal headquarter of Lumbini Zone in course of the unofficial visit of the western development region to assess the situation of the area.
Earlier their Majesties visited the Durga Temple situated at the western regional Police Training Center at Chauraha and offered prayers there.
