At least three people were injured when demonstrators protested against the killing of an innocent civilian- Chakra Joshi- in Dhangadi on Tuesday.

According to reports, security forces on Sunday took Joshi from his residence on charges of being involved in Maoists activities and shot him dead. The security forces had buried the dead body at the Devariya jungle.

The locals and cadres of different parties in Dhangadhi then excavated Joshi’s body from the jungle and organized protests rallies against the brutal killing of an innocent civilian. The irate students and locals have demanded stern action against the offenders, compensation for the Joshi family and postmortem of the body during the protests.

Three irate demonstrators were injured when they clashed with the police. Nepali Congress Dhangadhi has claimed that Joshi was its active member while the security forces have declared that the killed was involved in Maoists activities.
