Probe team visiting mid and far west regions

A team including chairperson of the High Level Investigation Commission and former Supreme Court justice Krishna Jung Rayamajhi and member Ram Prasad Shrestha are leaving Kathmandu today for the mid-western and far-western regions to carry out investigation and research on the loss incurred during the people’s movement of the country.

The team will collect information of damage caused to human life and property during the recent people’s movement, the state of suppression and the victims, misuse of power and resources, misuse of national coffer and violation of human rights.

The team will be carrying out the research in Banke, Bardia, Dhangadi, Kanchanpur, Dang, Rupandehi, Nawalparasi, Kaski, Baglung and Parbat districts, according to the Commission.

The government formed the commission to investigate and recommend action against officials using excessive forces during the people’s movement.
