Probe commission grills two junior ministers, others

The high level commission formed to probe the atrocities committed to suppress the pro-democracy movement of the country grilled two junior ministers of the royal government and three others for their role in suppressing the April movement, Tuesday.

The commission grilled former assistant minister for local development Roshan Karki and assistant minister for Industry Commerce and Supply Rajesh Kaji Shrestha.

Similarly, the commission also grilled former mayor of Kirtipur municipality Dhruba Maharjan and his deputy Bachhu Ram Shrestha and Police Inspector Raj Kumar Silwal for their alleged roles in suppressing the Jana Andolan II.

According to sources, all interrogated persons declined to own-up the responsibility of suppressing the April movement.

The commission headed by the former Supreme Court Justice Krishna Jung Rayamajhi had already interrogated then vice-chairmen duo of the council of ministers, security chiefs and others for their role in suppressing the pro-democracy movement of the country.
