Prince Nirajan initiates 132 km peace run

Kathmandu, June 27:His Royal Highness Prince Nirajan Bir Bikram Shah inaugurated a 132 km best wishes peace run from Kathmandu to Manakamana organised to mark the 30th Auspicious Birthday of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Tuesday.

HRH Prince Nirajan initiated the run by handling over the national flag and the flag of the National Sports Council (NSC) to athletes Ratna Tuladhar and Jagannath Bista.

On the occasion, Minister for State Education and Sports Dilendra Prasad Vadu said that the Crown and the Monarchy are the symbol of national unity and following the restoration of the democracy the reputation of the Crown has grown further.

Main civic celebration management committee chairman Rajesh Kaji Shrestha said that the Monarchy has been devoted to the prosperity and well-being of the nation and its populace.

Committee secretary Surendra Bir Malakar said it is a matter of pride that the Monarchy is becoming popular among the people.

Eight athletes and two cyclists under the convenorship of Ratna Tuladhar are participating in the peace run that commenced from the Southern gate at the Royal Palace. The run has been jointly organised by the 30th Auspicious Birthday main civic management committee and Ranamukteswar Club, Kathmandu.
