Prime Minister asks Secretaries to present vision paper on civil service

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has asked the government secretaries to present a 10 year long vision paper to make the civil service more effective and to move in a democratic way.

Giving directives to the newly appointed acting Chief Secretary and Secretaries, at the office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet secretariat, Prime Minister Koirala asked the secretaries to submit the vision letter by mentioning the reforms necessary in this regard within two months to the cabinet for approval.

The government on Monday appointed 15 acting secretaries.

The premier further said that the vision letter will be able to give certain direction to the civil administration of the country and develop it as permanent government.

Stating that he will make the provision of monitoring the daily activities of the secretaries, premier Koirala urged secretaries to provide service to the people effectively, without being partial.

The Prime Minister also attended Friday’s session of the parliament for a short time. PM Koirala did not attend the house session for a long time due to his ill-health.

However he did not address the house session.
