Maoist spokesperson and coordinator of the Maoists’ talk team Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said that the homework for the summit talks was in the final phase.
Addressing a gathering at Jaspur in Pyuthan district, one of the Maoist strongholds on Saturday, Mahara said the homework for summit talks from the Maoists’ side was in its final phase and that the impending talks would go ahead positively.
“It is sheer political ignorance to ask the People’s Liberation Army to lay down its weapons before the election to the constituent assembly,” reports quoted Mahara as saying.
He alleged a conspiracy was afoot to invite another crisis through the means of depriving the Maoist army of its arms.
Mahara however said, “As we have successfully overcome all misunderstanding and doubts, we can expect that the summit talks will take a significant decision to find a political solution,”
He said foreign investment would be welcome for Nepal ’s independent national economy, adding that the foreign policy would be made as per the agreement with the neighbouring countries after Maoists form the government.
He also stressed on the need for unification of all communist parties in Nepal .
Following the meeting with Maoist chairman Prachanda, CPN-UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal informed that the summit talks between top leaders of the seven party alliance and the Maoists will be held on Thursday.
