Speaking to journalists at the Ranjha Airport in Nepalgunj on Thursday before flying to Jumla, Prachanda said the MFJ had been involved in criminal activities at the behest of reactionaries. Warning that the Maoists would launch protests if the group is not outlawed, he also demanded immediate arrest of MJF leaders.
He revealed that he had been discussing with the government about outlawing the MJF.
The Maoist chairman claimed that foreign reactionaries were also involved in the killing of 28 people in Rautahat’s Gaur on Wednesday as some of the attackers came from across the border.
Prachanda further said the Gaur incident was part of a premeditated conspiracy to disrupt the constituent assembly election. The party has been investigating the incident, he added.
At least 28 persons died and over 40 injured when Maoists and MJF activists clashed with each other at Mills Area of Gaur Wednesday afternoon. Reports say most of the dead are Maoist cadres and ordinary people.
During conversation with the journalists Prachanda also mentioned that the eight parties had agreed to form the interim government by Friday, but added that the Gaur incident could delay the interim government for some time.
Meanwhile, Maoist combatants at the first divisional cantonment in Chulachuli area, Ilam district, came out of their cantonment to protest the Gaur incident. Nearly 300 combatants staged protest outside the cantonment demanding action against those behind the killings, reports said.
Maoists have announced protests against the Gaur violence.
Protesting the incident, the Maoist-affiliated Young Communist League organised rallies in Jhapa district this afternoon.
