One policeman was injured in an attack on a police outpost in Charikot overnight in continuing rebel violence, state-owned Radio Nepal said. The army repulsed the attack, the radio said. Maoist casualty figures were not available.

Insurgents Friday broke a four-month  truce to end a six-year communist insurgency and  for the first time targeted the army.
