Pokhara Sub Metropolis asks compensation for damages in Dipendra meeting hall

Pokhara Sub Metropolis city has asked the Nepal Students Union (NSU) for the compensation for the destruction and vandalism caused by the students affiliated to the major opposition Nepali Congress.

Chief of the Pokhara Sub Metropolis, Diwakar Bastola, said that public property of people of Pokhara had been damaged due to the irresponsible conduct of the NC affiliated student organizations, reports said.

According to Bastola, no program can be conducted in the hall without renovation.

Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has stated that Dipendra meeting hall in Pokhara has been emptied and is under police control.

Over half a dozen students were injured in the clashes between two rival factions of the NSU and property worth Rs half a million was damaged in the vandalism, according to reports.
