At the onset of the eight party meeting preparations, the diplomatic circle and foreign leaders have accelerated their meetings with the prime minister to discuss the latest political developments.
On Thursday morning, visiting Indian communist leader Sita Ram Yechuri held meeting with PM Koirala and discussed Indian support for Nepal’s peace process and holding constituent assembly elections.
Yechuri, who had earlier met with UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal, Maoist chairman Prachanda and Speaker Subash Nemwang, informed PM Koirala about the discussion he had with them.
Prior to the PM-Yechuri meeting, Australian envoy to Nepal Graeme Lade met PM Koirala at prime minister’s residence at Baluwatar. According to reports, their discussion concentrated on bilateral relations, latest political developments and possible Australian assistance for the peace process here.
On the occasion, Australian envoy expressed willingness to invest in Nepal’s water resources.
