Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala Tuesday held discussions with leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC) about the agendas of the meeting of the eight political parties scheduled for Wednesday.

Apart from the agendas of the top level meeting, Koirala also discussed the overall political situation of the country with his party leaders.

The Prime Minister received information about the political campaign at the district level for upcoming elections to constituent assembly.

He also explained about the government’s preparations for the CA polls slated for mid-June.

NC central working committee members present in the capital had participated in the meeting.

Meanwhile, CPN-UML general secretary Madhav Nepal has confirmed that the eight-party meeting would be held on Wednesday.

Earlier, the meeting was scheduled to take place on today.

Nepal also informed that top leaders of the major four parties would hold discussion ahead of the eight-party meeting.

The meeting will discuss the formation of interim government inclusive of the Maoists and will possibly announce the date for CA polls.

The eight-party meeting is taking place amid threats of UML to leave the coalition government and Maoist’s threat to start protest for republic set up if an interim government is not formed and the date for the CA polls is not announced immediately.
