PM asks Nepali, Indian businesses to work unitedly

Kathmandu, June 4: Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala today urged the business community from Nepal and India to move ahead unitedly for economic development and poverty alleviation of the both countries.

“It is essential to enhance economic ties for further strengthening the age-old relations between the two countries,” Premier Koirala added.

Koirala made this remark while inaugurating a meet on Spiritual Values for Business and Industrial Development here this afternoon organised by Brahma Kumaris Rajyoga Centre.

Earlier, a message from His Majesty the King was read out in the programme. In the message, His Majesty has expressed happiness over the organisation of such a programme and wished the success of the conference.

Prime Minister Koirala said, “First of all, we have to know our inner self, then only we will be able to understand the outer world. But we are trying in vain to understand the outer world without knowing the inner self.”

He said that wisdom, which remains in everybody, is a part of God. If we recognised this and followed accordingly, it would help remove greed, fear, jealousy and selfishness from the society.

The Centre’s efforts for establishing a new society and character building are laudable and have attracted me, he added.

Industry, Commerce and Supplies Minister Ram Krishna Tamrakar said that businessmen and industrialists should devote themselves in spiritual meditation for happiness of their lives.

State Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Narendra Bikram Nemwang said that the programme would help the business community understand the moral values of life.

Brahma Kumari Yogini Bahini, National Co-ordinator of Business and Industry Wing said that yoga teaches man tolerance, love and leads him on the path of the progress.

Rajyogini Dadi Hriday Mohini, joint Chief of Prajapati Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidhyalaya said that prosperity of a country depends on the honesty of the businessmen and industrialists.

Vice-President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Surendra Bir Malakar said that human activities should be based on the moral values.

First Vice-President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Rabi Bhakta Shrestha said that businessmen should also be involved in social services.

Industrialists from India Raghunath Madhava, Madan Lal Sharma and J. L. Saha stressed the need to extend investment to enhance industrial relations.

General Secretary of the Centre Brahma Kumar Surat Bahadur Ayer said that the meet aims at disseminating the message for the improvement of quality and productivity.

The meet, participated in by businessmen and industrialists from Nepal and India, is expected to discuss on the importance of spiritual and moral values.
