NNIPA accused NOC of neglecting players and sports development. NOC head Rukma Shumsher Rana was the main target when more than 300 players went to Bansbari office of NOC to lock it up. The Association also demanded officials of the NOC come to Dashrath stadium to hold meetings with players.
Meanwhile, NNIPA also met new Nepal Sports Council (NSC) member secretary Bodh Raj Niraula and requested him to hold tripartite talks between NOC, NSC and NNIPA, reports said.
According to the president of NNIPA, Kumar Karki, the NOC ignored the demands of the NNIPA submitted on May 29 and even rejected taking phone calls from them forcing them to make the move.
NNIPA said it would continue protests until the demands of the players are fulfilled. NNIPA has warned the sports governing body of boycotting the upcoming SAG Games if their demands aren’t fulfilled.
