People of different walks of life paid homage to late King Birendra, Queen Aishwarya and other members of the royal family on the occasion of fifth anniversary of royal massacre.
People gathered at Jawlakhel area to pay homage to the late King and other members of the royal family.
King Birendra, Queen Aishwarya, the then Crown Prince Dipendra (who was also declared King for 48 hours), Prince Nirajan and Princess Shruti among others were killed during the royal massacre on June 1, 2001.
Crown Prince Dipendra—who was later found dead– was found responsible for the regicide by the official probe committee formed by the government.
