Kathmandu: Peace rallies were organised at various places of the Kingdom at the call of the Peace Campaign Peoples’ Solidarity Committee with an objective of long-term peace through mutual goodwill in the country so as to make the talks between the government and the CPN-Maoists a success.
Janakpur: A rally which began here from the Janakpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry went through the town carrying placards with slogans ‘Peace the wishes of the Nepalese’, ‘Let’s build a fearless society’ and ‘Peace for ever’.
The rally participated in by party representatives, businessmen and journalists and social workers ended at the chamber office.
Charikot: A grand peace rally organised by the Dolakha Chamber of Commerce and Industry went through the town which was participated in by party representatives, intellectuals, employees, journalists, businessmen, social workers, teachers, students and representatives of NGOs.
Bhaktapur: The rally initiated by the president of the Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Krishna Prasad Tamrakar by flying pigeons, the symbols of peace was participated in by businessmen, journalists, lawyers, representatives of political parties, teachers and students.
The rally ended at Durbar Square after going through the Balakhu Ganesh, Mahalaxmi, Dattatreya, Golmadhi, Sukuldhoka, Taumadi, Bansha Gopal, Bharwacho and Itachhe.
Dhading: A rally was organised in Dhadingbesi by the Dhading Chamber of Commerce and Industry participated in by people of various walks of life.
Kamalamai: A rally which was organised by the Sindhuli Chamber of Commerce and Industry began from the open air theater and ended at the same place after going through the town.
Birgunj: A grand rally participated in by people of various walks of life participated in the rally organised by the Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Damak: A peace rally organised by the Damak Chamber of Commerce and Industry went through the town with a message for the civil society to be active against violence and murder.
Tulsipur: A rally organised by the Tulsipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry was participated in by people of various walks of life in which Tulsipur Mayor Dhundi Raj Lamichhane, Chamber President Chiranjivi Rijal, Bramhakumari Gita, vice president of FNJ Bipul Pokharel wished for the success of the talks.
Chitwan: A peace rally organised by the Narayangadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry went through the Bharatpur Municipality after starting from the Campachaur which was participated in by people of various walks of life.
Gaur: A peace rally went through the town here participated in by general public and representatives of various organisations.
