Rajbiraj, Jan. 14 : The Inquiry Commission 2057 constituted by His Majesty’s Government to probe the incidents that took place in Kathmandu on December 26 and 27 and at Rajbiraj on December 31, 2000 is to submit its report by January 18, 2001.
Chairman of the Commission Bhojraj Pokharel and its members Tika Dutta Niraula and Shripurush Dhakal, during the field visit at Rajbiraj yesterday, acquired information on the incidents from political activists, intellectuals, businessmen and journalists.
The commission would submit its report together with the details of the incidents and the extent of damage within two weeks, commission chairman Pokhrel said.
The all-sides action committee constituted in connection with the incidents at Rajbiraj did not meet the members of the commission.
As the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister had given assurances to constitute a separate commission with regard to the incidents at Rajbiraj, the action committee members did not formally meet the commission, committee convenor and MP Mrigendra Kumar Singh Yadav said.
