Even after four months of proclamation of the interim constitution that clipped most royal powers, the official website of the royal palace has not replaced the constitution of Nepal 1990 with the new one.

The 1990 statute has been placed as the constitution of Nepal in the official site www.nepalmonarchy.gov.np.

The House of Representatives had scrapped the old national anthem that glorified the Nepali monarchy. However, the royal site maintains the same old song as the national anthem.

The government has not finalised the new national anthem but the national anthem selection task force had recommended the song by Byakul Maila.

The coat of arms also has not been changed in the site. The old coat of arms embodies the crown which has been removed in the new one. The chart shown under the Principle Military Secretariat, which has now been dissolved, is overseen by the secretariat.

Likewise, the site only gives information about the government budget for the royal allocated in the fiscal year 2005-06.

Likewise, the chart of ‘Royal Palace Secretariat’ tells that ‘Affairs of His Majesty’s Government’ are carried out by the ‘Principle Secretariat’.

Though the government had announced that all the ancestral properties of the royal family would be turned into public properties, the site says the Hanuman Dhoka Durbar, Patan Durbar, Bhaktapur Durbar, Nuwakot Durbar, Gorkha Durbar and Lamjung Durbar are the royal palaces owned by the Shahs.
