A Pakistan Embassy official, Masood alias Mustafa, who was allegedly found carrying counterfeit Indian currency, has been asked to leave Nepal following an understanding reached between the Nepali and Pakistani authorities, a report said Sunday.
“The matter has been resolved through mutual consultation in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Geneva conventions,” the Kathmandu Post quoted Dr. Madan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson at the Foreign Ministry, as saying.
“The incident will have no impact upon the bilateral relations between Nepal and Pakistan,” Dr. Bhattarai said, adding, “we hope such incidents will not repeat.”
Police said Mustafa was arrested from a restaurant with fake Indian currencies of Rs. 45,000.
