The Private and Boarding Schools’ Organisation Nepal (PABSON) said Friday that it would reopen the schools that have remained closed for the last five days following the call of the Maoist student body to close down all the academic institutions.

After the All Nepal National Free Students Union (Revolutionary) appealed for the closure of academic institutions, PABSON had asked the schools to shut down expressing hopes that the government would initiate talks to find a way out of the problem.

The Maoist student body has demanded that the government withdraw the terrorist charges labeled against the Maoists if the academic sessions were to be resumed again. But the government refused to withdraw the tag stating that the activities of the Maoists clearly revealed that they were terrorists.

The rebel student body has said that it will continue with the strike unless the government fulfills its demands.
